Abstract
Within the scope of the building up of the Institute of Sports Medicine in Nicosia / Cyprus, in January 1993, were 49 male athlets and 12 female athletes exhaustive loaded on a bicycle ergometer in sitting position, following the Giessener 1 Watt / kg body weight method introduced by NOWACKI. Concerning the female athletes of Cyprus: They could perform physically better on the bicycle ergometer than their german athletes in the sport disciplines Swimming and Table Tennis. Instructions for more efficient training in order to improve the competition results were given.
